WHAT WE SAW AT TOYO TIRES TRAILPASS

Sep 27, 2019

COMMUNITY, GOOD FOOD AND COOL RIGS

The Ironman team spent Saturday in Hood River at the Toyo Tires Trailpass overland vendor fair. The event was free and open to the public with loaded hotdogs and tacos pumping out delicious smells. We saw a lot of familiar faces, Miller held a well attended intro to recovery class and we got to see a lot of cool rigs. We're excited for the next one! Read on to catch some highlights from the weekend.

DONK AND G-REX

We brought our 200 Series and new project Lexus GX460 out to the show, dressed to impress!

MILLER HOLDING COURT

Ironman squad member, Miller, held an intro to recovery class that focused on the basic tools and knowledge needed to get unstuck before ever touching a winch. Winches are a great tool, but are often unnecessary in most recovery situations.

DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE COOL RIGS!

THIS CLASSIC 60 SERIES

Sometimes it's better not to fix something if it ain't broke! This 60 had upgraded wheels and front end, but the rest of the vehicle was pretty much stock...and we love it

THIS GX460

We saw several sick GX460 builds which made us all the more excited to get started on ours. Every show we go to it seems we see more and more Lexus GX460 and GX470 overland rigs, a testament to their growing popularity in the off road community

DISCOVER NW EXPEDITION'S SUBARU

Possibly the rad-est Subaru build we have seen so far, Discover NW Expeditions gets after it in his Forester. Another vehicle we are seeing more and more of, Subaru's are affordable AWD's with aftermarket options becoming more available allowing enthusiasts to travel farther into the backcountry.

PINZGAUER HIGH MOBILITY ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE

Developed in Austria in the 1960s for military use, The Pinzgauer is a 6x6 high mobility utility vehicle. We especially liked the custom paint job on this beast. We'll call it the "Rogue 2" edition.
