HMMWV Video Run Down

HMMWV / HUMMER H1: These poly spacers can be installed at all four corners giving you approx 2.5" of additional lift. We recommend using "zip-ties" all around the spacer to secure it to the top of the coil. The spacer is an "interference fit" so getting the spacer to pilot into the top of the coil will not be easy. Once secured with "zip-ties" you can work around the outside of the shoulder and pry it further down into the bore of the coil. Then carefully insert the coil with the spacer still secured, back into the perch. Using a floor jack, lift from underneath the lower control arm and carefully seat the spacer into the top spring perch. As you continue to apply slow pressure with the jack, the lower shoulder of the spacer will fully seat into the bore of the coil. Once installed, cut and pull away the "zip-ties" with locking pliers. "Zip-tie" removal is made easier if you install them down in the relief grooves on the top face of the poly spacer. Once you're done and everything is bolted back together, take a paint pen and mark all your bolts and the position of the poly spacer for reference. If somehow something gets loose, you can tell by the paint marks you made during install.

Usually when you add pre-load to a coil you get a harsher ride. HOWEVER! I couldn't believe how much better the ride in my M998 was after installing these. The polyurethane spacers are a heck of a lot squishier than steel spacers and now all those highway road vibrations are gone. We can all thank MILLER for pointing out that the springs on my M998 looked to be about the same size as an 80 series Land Cruiser spring... Well, after lots of arguing in my garage turns out MILLER was right! And I was wrong...
